Kleshas

The kleshas are the five afflictions that bind the jiva: avidya (ignorance), asmita (egotism), raga (attachment), dvesha (aversion), and abhinivesha (clinging to life). They surface as the debris of lifetimes, woven with the Vasanas. In silence, the cleansing happens by itself.
