Maya

Maya is the cosmic illusion: the dazzling appearance of a separate world layered over the one reality of Brahman. Brahma satyam, jagat mithya: Brahman alone is real; this world of names and forms is mithya, illusory. Mother Maya comes in beautiful robes, sending you off to shop in tinsel town while the Self waits, unmoved, within. As the mind purifies into Shuddha Buddhi, her veil thins, and the whole pink and blue picture goes white.
